Automated Data Entry
Electronically interpret information from scanned source paper or source images using Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) or Optical Character Recognition (OCR). See Technologies for further description.
Data Processing Services
Mail opening and sorting, fulfillment processing including mail-in certificates, cash register receipt validity, purchase verification (UPC code, serial numbers, and model numbers), and form encoding.
Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
The recognition of machine printed text characters by a computer. This involves digital scanning of the text character-by-character, analysis of the scanned-in image, and then translation of the character image into character codes, such as ASCII, commonly used in data processing.
Optical Mark Recognition (OMR)The recognition of check marks or fill-in boxes on preprinted forms. Commonly used on surveys and other consumer related documents.
Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR)
The recognition of hand-printed text characters by a computer. This involves digitally scanning the source material with computer interpretation of text character-by-character, analysis of the scanned-in image, and then translation of the character image into character codes, such as ASCII, commonly used in data processing.
Key From Image
Manually key information from source images or source paper documents that have been scanned. This is useful for documents in which there is limited control over handwritten information or for documents that cannot leave a customer site.
Microfilm source paper documents (simplex or duplex). Each document can also be imprinted with a 12 character x 12-line identifier (index) for easy retrieval of source paper documents.
Scan source paper documents (simplex or duplex) in an industry standard format for document imaging/archival systems.
CD-ROM Production Service
Webscan will scan your documents, then index the documents according to your specifications. The index file and respective images are then transferred to a CD-ROM (or other media) for Database retrieval.
Forms Development Service
Webscan can provide forms development assistance on a consulting basis. This service is useful when developing forms for automated data entry as well as more traditional types of data entry. When documents conform to system and data entry guidelines, data accuracy can be greatly enhanced.
Webscan has full-time programmers available for virtually any programming assistance you require. All data entry programs are customized to ensure the highest accuracy and the most efficient input.
Incoming Mail Services
Webscan can process your incoming documents. These services include receiving, opening, sorting, and batching. Our management staff is up-to-date on current postal regulations and can act as your liaison with the U.S. Postal Service, including design support for your mail pieces. We also have our own zipcode in Arizona, which allows us to efficiently receive mail directly from the respondents to eliminate shipping time and associated costs.
Webscan has warehousing and warehousing retrieval options available for any length of time. This can significantly reduce your return shipping and storage costs of your source material.
